We formally (and finally!) signed a contract with our builder today, so work is commencing on the plot!In the photo BJ (our builder, a Scandinavian guy who has been building on the island for years) and Ian are admiring the wooden stakes that will be used to measure out the land for the big digger that should be coming next week.
Our land extends to the grey electricity meter in the middle of the picture, the fate of the big green tree to the right of it is currently a hot item of debate - the site managers want to keep it, but we have heard that this type of tree drops reddish berries which stain anything they land on, unfortunately in this case our pool terrace...
We also discovered today that the electricity meter (which also houses the phone cables) is hosting a colony of ants, we are currently calculating how much rent to charge them.
