Looking more like a house

Only another week or two, and we'll be moving in. Yipee!!

This picture makes it look like we're on a plantation.

Here's Ian resting on the new balcony rails...

Side profile... the stairs have been sandwashed, and the balcony rails are almost finished.

Look! The sliding doors are in...

It's 5pm, home time...

Taking it easy

We went to Koh Tao for a few days last week, to escape the world. We stayed in a small resort in Mango Bay, and did loads of snorkelling!

Koh Tao is only 2 hours by ferry from Samui.. and very popular for diving! Being a much smaller island than Samui, we had to take a small ferry from the main town to our resort (no road), and we only had power at night time (generator).

Near completion

A quick update on the villa, as it nears completion. Most of the floors have been tiled, and the outdoor terrace and swimming pool are being finished as I type. We also had the electrician in last week, fitting the lights and ceiling fans... and last night the digger turned up to dig a big hole for the sceptic tanks! We'll get some new photo's of the house on the blog soon...

The last of the family left today (bye Sharon & George: have a great time in Cambodia), so we are back to our quiet island life. We are hoping to spend a few days on Koh Tao (nearby island) to get away from it all and recharge our batteries.

We decided to get married while we were living in Samui... and Friday 6th July is the big day!

Koh Samui has recently been invaded by quite a few friends & family, and we have a range of activities planned for the rest of the week. To keep up with the gossip please check out our wedding blog (we'll be updating it with photos as the week goes by).

Family and friends

Our parents have made it here safely and our friends and relatives are arriving in droves.

Between picking up people from the airport we have managed to fit in a family lunch

Dave and Michele kindly hosted some boat drinks.

Tonight we took our friends Doris and Chris to a local Thai place for dinner, great cheap food washed down with plenty of beer with ice.

We are sailing

We had a great time sailing around the islands and discovered some beautiful secluded beaches. The weather was generally good but we did get caught in one storm - which was a real adventure.
